After hearing the reports presented by the hospital commandant on medical treatment, the undertakings of general staff, adjutant and quartermaster functions, providing healthcare to locals and the welfare system of officers, other ranks and families, at the meeting hall of the hospital, the Senior General fulfilled the needs.
In a meeting with professors, medical officers and nursing officers from the hospital, the Senior General said there are two kinds of leaders in the army—military leader and professional leader. They all have to attend necessary military training courses at the different levels whatever duties they are performing. They need to apply knowledge from the subjects they learned in the practical fields at full capacity. They have to control subordinates in a fair manner with spirits of good commander and father in line with the leadership characteristics. The spirit of fairness is fatherly spirit. Leaders need to have efforts and control subordinates with sympathy as well as brotherly and fatherly spirits. All the servicemen from levels of the group leaders to the commanders are leaders at different levels. The commander must carry out various tasks proper for the military unit and have to supervise subordinates in implementing the directives given by superior. Corps of medical services are playing a key role in building the Tatmadaw on which the people and the country rely. Hence, officials at different levels need to participate in it and take care of ensuring good relations with the people.
Everybody cannot be number one but they all have rights to secure the position of number one. Hence, all have to utilize this right. As indulgence may destroy their lives, they should avoid indulgence and should not indulge subordinates. They should avoid drinking alcohol and indulgence as much as they can because these acts may be hindrances to improvement of their lives. They must conscientiously avoid talks and acts which may harm disciplines of the Tatmadaw. Discipline means prompting and prohibition. They have to conduct self-control as well as supervise subordinates. As the government spends many time and much money on turning the professionals, they need to value their lives. The Senior General stressed the need to adjust their income and expenditure for their welfare, control greediness and happily discharge duties by abiding the disciplines about promptings and prohibitions.
