Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received French Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Christian Lechervy at Zeyathiri Beikman in Konmyintha, Yangon, this morning.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The French Ambassador was accompanied by French Military Attaché to Myanmar Lt. Col. Nadia PIERCY and officials.
They cordially discussed cooperation between ASEAN and France, Myanmar’s memberships in ASEAN and BIMSTEC, Tatmadaw’s efforts for ensuring Myanmar is well on track of democracy aspired by the people and internal peace process, defence matters, military relations between France and Myanmar, defence cooperation, cooperation in anti-terrorism and information sharing, investment prospects and opportunities in Myanmar, measures to protect French businesspeople working in Myanmar in line with the existing laws, environmental and biodiversity conservation, climate change and developments in health and education sectors of Myanmar.
Later, the Senior General and the French Ambassador exchanged gifts and posed for a documentary photo together with those present.
