Catholic Yangon Youth from Yangon, formed with youth of various ethnics, visited the residence of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing this evening, sang Christmas carols and prayed for peace.
First, Catholic Yangon Youth sang Christmas carols and songs for peace. Later, Ko Kaung Pyae Paing of Catholic Yangon Youth said prayers, thanking the Senior General for the opportunity for sin-ging Christmas carols at his home. He said youths are thankful for the Senior General’s efforts to safeguard the country despite the difficulties. He said he would request the Senior General to continue safeguarding the country although there are a lot of hardships. He said the Catholic Yangon Youth prayed for the health and wellbeing of the Senior General and all the Tatmadaw members and their families and for them to serve the country’s interest more.
Then, the Catholic Yangon Youth presented Christmas gifts to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who in turn presented musical instruments for Christmas carols and cash donations to the Catholic Yangon Youth.
In his greetings, the Senior General thanked the youths from all ethnics of Catholic Yangon Youth for praying. All citizens need to make efforts for development of the country. Wish of peace can be seen in any religion. However, as some apply advice of religions with various kinds of definitions, the Senior General urged them to work in concert in line with reality. The Tatmadaw desires peace and stability, and development of the nation. Citizens need to dutifully carry out tasks in respective sectors so as to ensure peace, stability and development of the nation. The statement on ceasefire was released as a New Year gift on 21 December with sympathy for local ethnics facing troubles, focusing on eternal peace. The Senior General noted that all ethnics in various religions should make in concert for the country to be peaceful and prosperous. Starting from this X’mas period, the Senior General said he prayed for peace and stability, tranquility, enjoyment and development of the nation in the future.
Afterwards, the Senior General and family served foodstuffs to youths from all ethnics of Catholic Yangon Youth. The Senior General and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family members greeted the youths from all ethnics of Catholic Yangon Youth individually.
