Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs special envoy of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam H.E. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs special envoy of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was accompanied by Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Dr. Luan Thuy Duong, Military Attaché Colonel Nguyen Duc Giang and officials.
They cordially held talks about cooperation in training and military technologies between the two armed forces of both countries, efforts to further promote cooperation in defence and security measures, support of Vietnam with understanding to Myanmar in the international community for Bengali issues being solved by the government and the Tatmadaw in northern region of Rakhine State, endevours of the Tatmadaw in securing internal peace while striving for ensuring peace and stability in northern part of Rakhine State, welcome and support of Vietnam to the statement announced by the Tatmadaw on 21 December 2018, assistance of Vietnam for development in Rakhine State and internal peace process, exchange of goodwill visits for further cementing friendly relations between the two armed forces, and promotion of bilateral trade.
After the meeting, the Senior General and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs special envoy of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam had group documentary photo taken after exchanging commemorative gifts.
