Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Special Envoy of Japanese Government for Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation H.E. Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this afternoon.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Hsan Oo, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and Lt-Gen Maung Maung Aye from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Special Envoy of Japanese Government for Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation was accompanied by Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro Maruyama and officials.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on assistance of Japan for Myanmar to achieve internal peace, coordination of the Tatmadaw with religious organizations and relevant organizations in Kachin State to return the people from IDP camps of the state to their homes and assistance of Japan for regional development, efforts of Japan to provide assistance for regional development and humanitarian aid in Rakhine State, processes of solving Bengali issues by the government and the Tatmadaw in Buthidaung and Maungtaw region of northern Rakhine State, helps of Japan to let international community know true information, endeavours of the Tatmadaw to ensure political peace and stability and security-based peace and stability in Myanmar, and needs of investments from Japan’s factories and work-shops in Myanmar in order to generate employment opportunities.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Special Envoy of Japanese Government for Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation posed for documentary photo together with those present.
