Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), commander of the Southern Command and officials, visited Shwebontha Muni Pagoda in Pandaung Township in Pyay District this evening.
The Senior General and wife paid homage to the Buddha Image on the pagoda, and offered flowers, water and oil lights to the image before going around the pagoda clockwise. He coordinated requirements for flooring of heat-resistant terrace tiles and repair of tree benches on the precinct of the pagoda for the convenience of pilgrims.
The Senior General and wife presented cash donations to the pagoda board of trustees for all-round renovation of the pagoda and the board of trustees presented them with a picture of the pagoda as a Dhamma gift. The Senior General then signed the guestbook of the pagoda.
