Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received H.E. Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Special Envoy of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Special Envoy of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Hong Liang and officials.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on visits of the Special Envoy of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China to Buthidaung and Maungtaw region of northern Rakhine State and his observation over the tasks done in Myanmar to re-accept Bengalis, support of China to efforts of Myanmar Government and the Tatmadaw in the international community including the United Nations, instable situations of Rakhine State without peace being jointly committed by ARSA terrorists and AA insurgents at Myanmar-Bangladesh border, endeavours of the Tatmadaw for achieving eternal peace in the whole nation in 2020,support and assistance of China to such endeavours, and cooperation of two countries in ensuring peace and stability in northern region of Myanmar and border regions.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented commemorative gift to the Special Envoy of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and posed for documentary photo together with those present.
