Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who was on a goodwill visit to Thailand at the invitation of Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Ponpipaat Benyasri called on President of the Privy Council General Prem Tinsulanonda at the parlour of latter’s residence this morning.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and Maj-Gen Moe Myint Tun from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army), Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Myo Myint Than,Myanmar Military Attaché (Army,Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Khin Zaw and senior military officers. The President of Privy Council was accompanied by Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Ponpipaat Benyasri and senior military officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.
During the meeting, they cordially discussed promotion of friendly relations between the two countries and two armed forces,participation of the Tatmadaw in ensuring peace, stability and development of Myanmar, further cooperation in two armed forces and exchange of goodwill visits at different levels.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the President of Privy Council had documentary photos taken after exchanging commemorative gifts.
