NAY PYI TAW, April 26
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill visit to Saint Petersburg of the Russian Federation, was welcomed by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Vice Admiral Volozhinskiy Andrei Olgertovich, on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy of the Russian Armed Forces, with the Guard of Honour in front of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy this morning.
Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Min Naing and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Commodore Kyaw Soe Moe. The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy was accompanied by senior naval officers from the Russian Armed Forces.
On arrival at the place to welcome with the Guard of Honour, the Senior General was cordially welcomed by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy. Then, the Senior General and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy took the salute of the Guard of Honour.
They bilaterally introduced senior military officers from both countries to each other. The Senior General took the quick march salute of the Guard of Honour.
The Senior General and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy posed for documentary photo together with senior military officers from both countries. At the meeting hall, the Senior General and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy cordially discussed cooperation in military technological and training affairs between the two armed forces and navies of both countries, exchange of war ship visits of both countries, cooperation in humanitarian issues, and exchange of goodwill visits at different levels for further cementing friendly relations between two armed forces and navies of both countries.
The Senior General and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy exchanged gifts. The Senior General and party viewed keeping of the books on Myanmar history written in Russian language at the History Museum of the Russian Navy.
The Senior General and party went to Admiralteyskie Verfy Shipyard and at the meeting hall, the director general of the shipyard and officials briefed on the production of submarines. The Senior General raise some queries. Then, the Senior General and party viewed the manufacturing, repair and maintenance of submarines at the shipyard, and they were conducted round by the director general and officials.
The Senior General and party proceeded to Joint Stock Company (JSC) “STC” Plant in the evening. They studied the production of unmanned reconnaissance airplanes and were conducted round by plant officials.
