NAY PYI TAW May 19Efforts need to be made to repay the gratitude of the State while you are seeking ways to develop your lives. As you were born and grown up in this country, you have to prove that you are good citizens of the country. In so doing, you have to make the work with the constructive attitude instead of destructive attitude. Special attention needs to be paid to protect the make-believe of inciters who aim to disintegrate our Union. Those who drive a wedge have always tried to disintegrate our motherland throughout the successive eras. Propagandas are being made with fabricated news via news media and social networks to break up the unity among the youths in the country. As youths are being spoilt with narcotic drugs like a weapon, you need to instinctively repel them with great attention, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the ceremony to honor maritime and aviation youths in Zeyathiri Beikman here this afternoon.
Present on the occasion were wife of the Senior General Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and wife, the Union Minister for Defence and wife, the Union Minister for Border Affairs and wife, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army, Navy and Air) and their wives, trainees, administrators and instructors from the maritime and aviation youth courses.

The Tatmadaw feels delighted to have a chance to nurture the youths who will take responsibility for the future of the country as there has been growing number of trainees year by year from the opening of courses till now. Youths will have to shoulder the respective duties of the State and the people while walking on the long journey of human life on the way forward. You need to deal with the situations with right perspective. As the proverb says “As soon as a well is dug, we cannot get clear water,” youths have to make continuous efforts to study the basic subjects since you were young. Youths should make the best use of young age as you are mentally and physically strong.
The Senior General continued Youths had made the best use of summer holidays by learning precious subjects which give support to the defence and development of the State. Their parents will be pretty amazed by the physical and mental maturity of youths within one-month course after the best use of time. The subjects such as the history of maritime and aviation subjects, construction of airplanes and water vessels and the building of engine parts and scale models have been learnt. The maritime and aviation subjects are hard as well as broad. Youths need to have perseverance, courage and diligence as well as to be skilful in the subjects. You have got the opportunity to attend the courses as now is the time to overwhelm the world with maritime and aviation subjects nowadays. You have made study on the engine parts, medicine, radio/radar and separate subjects in addition to the practical driving and riding of water vessels and planes in advanced courses. You have learnt the history of the Tatmadaw (Navy) and Tatmadaw (Air) in addition to the subjects of industrial materials, flying subjects and maritime and aviation subjects.
Although Myanmar pilot Captain U Myat Moe Aung and aircrews had difficulty in deploying nose landing gear of a passenger plane of Myanmar National Airline, the captain managed to safely land it at the airport without hurting all
passengers on board. For the good performance the pilot and aircrew, it ensured safety to all the passengers. The correct decision by individuals and group and skills based on correct decision by individuals and group, capacity, bravery and practice are good examples in this incident. Similarly, the attitude toward sacrifice and the acts of the ship master and crew can be found as many good examples, said the Senior General.
The basic foundation to develop the State is education. Only if the citizens are educated, can the country make progress. Looking at industrialized countries and technologically and economically developed countries, there are plenty of well-educated persons and well-informed ones and they possess perfect knowledge and high performance. The Tatmadaw is taking active part in nurturing more patriotic youths and producing human resources when it is discharging the duties of the State. The motto saying “Education can enhance dignity of nationality” remains right in the successive eras. For that reason, the Tatmadaw is engaging in education, the most important foundation of the State. The Tatmadaw opens basic maritime course for youths, basic aviation course for youths, university training course every year for enabling the youths of future generation to cultivate the spirit of cherishing State, the spirit of defending State, patriotism and correct national view. From the initial inauguration to date, basic maritime courses for youths and advanced courses produced 4,220, basic aviation courses for youths and advanced courses, 6,775. These courses have been started since the time of Socialist Programme Party. Among the attendances at the respective courses are 10 high-ranking officers including the current Commander-in-Chief (air) and the deputy Minister of Defence, six low-ranking officers who are still in service, 14 trainees who have finished basic maritime courses for youths and 23 trainees who have finished basic aviation course. It is required to have human resources capable of exploiting existing mineral resources without relying on a wealth of natural resources for the development of a country. Human resource means knowledge, intellect and health and fitness. It will be difficult to learn knowledge and intellect if you are not healthy. For that reason, the youths of today who are building a future nation are to stay healthy, keep themselves fit, eat nutritious foods and play games to keep themselves fit and healthy apart from just learning knowledge and intellect, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The youths of today are those who are curious to know. It is required to effectively make use of inquiring minds in the good situations to develop their lives, their families and their State. The motto saying “Books are humans’ friends” means treasures that can be attained from the books. The youths are urged to read good and useful books capable of controlling your life. You will achieve lots of benefits if can use knowledge gained from literature and intellects from school lessons in a wise manner. In some countries of today, a lot of young people are allowed to get involved in important political, economic and social sectors. This shows the recognition of the efforts of youths and it is also a good sign of national development. No matter where you come from, you will be sure to become reliable one day for the State if you stick to your honesty, perseverance, diligence and industry. For you who will be shouldering your duties one day, I want to say that you must do anything out of goodwill in the interest of the State and the people. During summer holiday, you are urged to try to widen your horizons, to use your holiday effectively, to study your favourite subjects and to continue to forge unity perceived from the training courses for tuning out the youths skilled in maritime and aviation affairs. You are urged to actively participating in nation-building tasks while trying your best for self-progress. Holding the concept that you must always be doing good deeds whoever tries to do bad deeds, you must continue your efforts based on correct outlook, conviction and Union spirit. Finally,I want to urge you to become youths who are capable of shaping a better future of the country.
