Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Ambassador of Laos to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Heuangseng Khamdalavong at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa here this after-noon.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Laotian Ambassador was accompanied by Military Attaché Colonel Bounmy-vieng Viengnhoutthasat and officials.
They cordially discussed the improved friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Laos and the two armed forces, necessary assistance to be rendered in propagating Theravada Buddhism in Laos as both countries have much similar cultures and religions, bilateral cooperation in trade and tourism development and exchange of visits of cultural troupes and sport teams at various levels for further strengthening of the friendship between the two countries and the two armed forces.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Laotian Ambassador exchanged gifts and posed for a documentary photo.
