Nay Pyi Taw September 21
Collective efforts should be made to end the evil incidents occurring in Buthidaung/Maungtaw region in Rakhine State and to restore the normal situation. The donated funds will be used in the areas where help is really in need according to the wish of the donors. I express special thanks to well-wishers and donors for the voluntary contributions, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the third ceremony to present cash and kind for security personnel and departmental staff who daringly served the State defence and security duties and displaced natives who left their homes due to the violent attacks of theextremist Bengali terrorists and erecting the border fence held at U Ottama Hall, Sittway, Rakhine State this afternoon.
In his address, the Senior General said we have made best efforts in solving the terrorist attack on August 25. Thanks to the information on terrorist attacks that led to the deployment of troops in advance for area clearance operations, natives faced fewer casualties. At present necessary measures are being taken in accord with the law and rules and regulations. The root cause of the incident is the weakness in abiding by the law. Hence, officials should regulate all the people to live and work under the law.
The donors at the ceremony are contributing towards the country from the respective sectors. As the donors are making contributions in connection with the Rakhine crisis, the ethnics living in the country or abroad should make investments and carry out development undertakings in their native land.
Similarly, the displaced persons of Buthidaung/Maungtaw region should return to the land and the security forces must supply all necessities including the security in enabling them to resettle and earn their living. Local ethnics should cooperate with the administrative bodies and security forces for regional peace and stability.
