The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is on a goodwill visit to the Republic of India arrived in Mundra by special aircraft of the Indian Armed Forces on the morning of 27 July and was welcomed by Rear Admiral Sanjay Roye and officials of the Indian Navy.
The Senior General and party visited Adani Ports and Logistics at Mundra Port. Officials of Adani Port & SEZ Limited (APSEZ) gave a presentation on operating the functions at the port to accept docking of container ships for export and import processes. The Senior General asked about safety process in preventing natural disasters and other points he wanted know. The Senior General and party viewed round undertakings of safety process for disasters at factories and tasks being undertaken along the deep seaport. Officials conducted them round the port. Then, commemorative gifts were exchanged at the meeting hall.
Adani Ports and Logistics, a deep seaport at the Gulf of Kutch in India, is one of the ports which can admit docking of large vessels.It is a main gatepost of transporting commodities to inner part of India.The port stores and distributes crude oil, automobiles, and other export and import items. The port which has jetties to admit docking of many tons of cargo ships is the world’s largest coal import port to supply coal to Adani coal-fired power plant and TATA coal-fired power plant. These coal-fired power plants generate some 8,600 megawatts through the least environmental impact technique so as to meet electricity demand of India on one hand.
Next, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party visited the SEZ & Solar Panel manufacturing unit where they were conducted round by officials. Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party raised queries what they wanted to know. The SEZ & Solar Panel manufacturing unit is producing solar panels capable of generating energy through solar system that can’t harm natural environment.It can output solar panels capable of generating 1,200 megawatts in a year. These solar panels can generate electric power without need of installing battery system separately. In addition to India, these solar panels are being exported to the United States of America,Britain and other European countries.
Mundra had a population of about 10,000 people in 1998 when industries were constructed. Now,the population has grown to about 250,000 people. Increasing number of workers has been employed in factories and industries. India recycles water from sea to meet the water demand of factories and industries as well as those workers.Water vapour in the atmosphere is purified into clean drinking water.Efforts are being put into conserving the natural environment, trees and forests to change from the dry region to a greening one.
