Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received H.E. Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Special Envoy of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa here this afternoon.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). H.E. Mr. Sun Guoxiang was accompanied by Consul Mr. Yang Shou Zheng, and officials.
Cordial discussion focused on Myanmar’s strengthening of friendly relations with the international community and neighbouring countries in accord with the peaceful co-existence policy, non-acceptance of any act harming the relations with the neighbouring countries, the importance of paying attention to Myanmar’s objective conditions, China’s support for Myanmar without accepting one-sided pressure on Myanmar, the need to promptly re-accept the displaced persons from Rakhine State in line with the bilateral agreements, the importance of ensuring regional security and peace in reaccepting the displaced persons, the importance of ensuring no act that can stifle security, peace and stability, China’s assistance for internal peace efforts, the need to achieve progress as Tatmadaw allows ceasefire with patience for the sake of internal peace and to understand Tatmadaw’s six-point peace policy and Myanmar’s prevailing conditions, and continued peace efforts.
