Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met a delegation led by State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Wang Yi at the parlour of YangyiaungYeiktha at Central Command Headquarters this morning.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China was accompanied by Ambassador of China to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai and officials.
At the call, cordial discussions were centred on the efforts of Myanmar and China, which are good old friends and strategic partners, for further promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries through fraternal spirit, cementing of bilateral ties as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries falls in 2020, the Tatmadaw’s abidance of the foreign policy of Myanmar-maintain friendly relations with all countries, non-alignment and peaceful coexistence, efforts of the Tatmadaw for stability of the common border and internal peace, and the Chinese assistance for peace endeavours of Tatmadaw.
After the call, the Senior General hosted a luncheon in honour of the delegation led by the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at Mercure Hotel. The Myanmar traditional music played by xylophone and harp was performed during the lunch. After the lunch, the Senior General and the Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs ex-changed gifts.
