Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr. YAMAGUSHI Natsuo, Chairman of the Komeito Party of the coalition government and a member of the House of Councillors in the National Diet of Japan, at the Parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman in Yangon this afternoon.
Present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). Mr. YAMAGUSHI Natsuo was accompanied by Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA and officials.
At the call, cordial talks were focused on Japanese understanding of the international pressures Myanmar is facing and the support for Myanmar, the implementation of the Independent Commission of Enquiry for Rakhine, Tatmadaw’s cooperation, the establishment of the Court of Inquiry in exposing the truth and actions being taken in accord with the military law, the need to take into account the Tatmadaw’s full responsibility and duty to protect the sovereignty and lives and property of the people as the incident occurred while its members were discharging this duty, the endeavours for peace of the Tatmadaw which is focusing on peace and political stability, Japanese assistance for the resettlement of displaced persons of IDP camps, and ways to render assistance in improving the lives of the people of remote areas of states.
After the call, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Mr. YAMAGUSHI Natsuo exchanged gifts and posed for documentary photos together with the attendees
