Defence Services Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Golf Tournament is annually held with the aim of turning out victorious Tatmadaw golfers who bring honour to the State and improving the golf standard of Tatmadaw members.
Defence Services Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Golf Tournament 2019-2020 took place at Nay Pyi Taw Golf Course and Yaypyar Golf Course on 30 and 31 January with 17 contesting teams from respective military commands. The Central Command team won the team-wise event (scratch) with 643 strokes while the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air) team won team- wise event (handicap) with 540 strokes.
The prize presentation ceremony was held at Nay Pyi Taw Golf Course this evening, and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended it and presented awards.
Also present were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Sein Win and Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), athletes from the participating teams and the panel of judges and invited persons.
Quarter Master General Lt-Gen Nyo Saw presented prizes to winners of first, second and third prizes in longest drive and the nearest to the line prize on the second day of the tournament. Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein presented prizes to winners of the nearest to the line prize on the first day and second day of the tournament, and the nearest to the pin prize on the second day of the tournament. Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw presented prizes to winners of the nearest to the pin prize on the first and second day of the tournament and best in single’s (handicap) prizes.
Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San presented prizes to winners of the best in single’s (scratch) prize, most per prize and most bridie prize, second and third prizes in sigle’s (handicap) event. Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo presented prizes to winners of first prize in single’s ( handicap) event, first, second and third prizes in single’s (scratch) event and third prizes in team-wise (scratch) events.
Then, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented second prizes to winners of team-wise (handicap) event and (scratch) event.
Afterwards, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented championship trophy in team-wise (handicap) event to the team of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), which stood first in the event with 540 net strokes in total and championship trophy in team-wise (scratch) event to the team of the Central Command, which stood first in the event with 643 net strokes in total.
