Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received town elders of Sittway, Rakhine State led by Minister for Rakhine Ethnic Affairs of Yangon Region Government U Zaw Aye Maung at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa here this afternoon.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Aye Win and senior military officers of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army). The region minister was accompanied by town elders of Sittway U Shwe Maung, U Than Shwe, U Shwe Kyaw Tha, U Tha Noh Aung, U Myint Kyaw and U Sein Tha Oo.
At the meeting, views were cordially exchanged on the delightfulness of the people and the members of the Sangha for the completion of the Sasana Beikman, the pride of the town, in Sittway, built with the donation of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and wellwishers, where members of the Sangha of Rakhine State can sit for Pariyatti examination in peace of mind, and religious ceremonies including Dhamma Thabin can be held, progress in placing the bronze statue of World Buddhist Missionary Sayadaw U Candramani, who strived with might and main for promotion and propagation of Buddhism in India and Nepal, at a land plot donated by the Tatmadaw, donation of other religious buildings, development undertakings in Sittway, and the requirement of regional peace for health, education, economic and social undertakings of Rakhine State.
The Senior General presented gifts to the region government minister and town elders and posed for group photo together with them.
