The Myanmar Tatmadaw dele-gation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the Parade of the 75th Anniversary Victory Day of Great Patriotic War of the Russian Federation held at the Red Square in Kremlin Palace in Moscow this morning.
The military parade is an event that pays a great tribute by member countries of Independent Common-wealth including the Russian Federation and this year’s event, which was arranged in compliance with social distancing rules, was attended by President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, Defence Minister Army General Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, senior military and civilian leaders, members of war veterans organization, presidents from 12 countries, military heads, defence ministers and officers of 17 countries and invited guests.
First, military columns and companies that would participate in the parade totalling 14,000 persons took positions and Defence Minister Army General Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu inspected the companies of the columns. Then, he paid a salute and assigned the columns to President Vladimir Putin, who delivered a speech.
Afterwards, columns of companies, machinery corps, military bands led by Commander-in-Chief of Russian Ground Forces Colonel General Oleg Solyukov saluted the president in the military parade form while aircrafts and helicopters were flying in skill demonstration displays. About 1,400 troops from 13 countries participated in the military parade.
Then, the president of Russian Federation left the parade and the ceremony marking the 75th Anniversary Victory Day of Great Patriotic War of the Russian Federation came to a conclusion successfully.
After the Second World War broke out in 1939, Nazis signed an agreement to surrender to the forces of Alliance and Soviet Union in Berlin, Germany, on 8 May 1945, due to the difference to time between countries, the event fell on 9 May in Moscow, which is commemorated as the Victory Day in Soviet Union. The 75th Anniversary of the Victory Day ceremony, which fell on 9 May this year, was suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. As the outbreak has been controlled in the Russian Federation to some extent, the Victory Day, which was celebrated for the first time on 24 June 1945, was held in Russia as the Victory Day of Great Patriotic War parade in the Russian Federation today. The Victory Day of Great Patriotic War parade is celebrated in respective cities in Russia on a grand scale with the aim of revitalizing the patriotism of war veterans and citizens.
