Ceremonies to hoist diamond orb, pennant-shaped vane and golden umbrella atop Shwedagon Replica Pagoda took place at Myanma Theravada Buddha Vihara (Moscow) inMoscow of the Russian Federation in conjunction with the consecration ceremony for donation of Saddhammajotika Ordination Hall this afternoon of local standard time, attended by members of the Sangha led by Abbot of the Vihara Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Acchariya, delegation members led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, officer trainees from Myanmar Tatmadaw and Buddhist Russians.

The ceremony was opened with three-time recitation of Namo Tassa. At the auspicious time, the Senior General and party led by the abbot Sayadaw hoisted diamond orb, pennant-shaped vane and golden umbrella atop the pagoda. Then, these objects were sprinkled with scented water. They performed the rituals of golden and silver showers to mark the successful completion of the ceremony.

The ceremony followed with the consecration for the pagoda. Next, a ceremony to share merits gained for donation of Saddhammajotika Ordination Hall contributed by leaders of the Tatmadaw, officer trainees from Myanmar Tatmadaw in Russia and well-wishers took place there. The congregation took the Five Precepts from the abbot Sayadaw and listened to Paritta recited by members of the Sangha.

The Senior General donated cash for construction of the ordination hall and missionary fund, the vehicle to be used in missionary tasks and offertories to the abbot Sayadaw. Member of the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and delegation members offered alms to members of the Sangha. Merits gained were shared.

It was reported that Myanmar Theravada Buddha Vihara (Moscow) is located 14 kilometres east of the downtown Moscow. It was opened on 1 July 2015 with contribution of Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies, Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Vice Chairman of Shwegyin Nikaya Joint Shwegyin Sangharaja Sitagu Sayadaw and donations of students and officer trainees from the Myanmar Tatmadaw in Moscow and well-wishers. The opening ceremony was attended by the Sitagu Sayadaw together with members of the Sangha from Europe, Asia and America. Myanmar Theravada Buddha Vihara (Moscow) or Myanmar monastery is a focal point, paying homage to the pagoda and holding religious ceremonies for Buddhist missionary team in Russia. The Abbot Sayadaw is carrying out religious tasks to strive for flourishing of the Buddhism.
