Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore H.E. Mr. Vivian Balakrishnan at the Parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman, here, this afternoon.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on lasting relations between Myanmar and Singapore in good condition, realization of multi-party democracy the people of Myanmar have chosen, participation of the Tatmadaw in reform process, efforts for making internal peace process, cooperation in economic matters between the two countries and current economic status of Myanmar, arrangements of Singapore to provide assistance as much as possible for solving problems which occurred in Rakhine State, and potential for impacts of terror attacks on ASEAN countries after extremist Bengali terrorists have committed attacks in Rakhine State.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers. The Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Singaporean Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Robert Chua and officials.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented a commemorative gift to the Singaporean Minister.
