Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan H.E. Mr. Kazuyuki NAKANE at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this evening.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on endeavours of the Tatmadaw for making internal peace process and for strengthening the way to multi-party democracy with firm steps, mutual cooperation between Japan and Myanmar, recognition of Japan over releasing the announcement on the Tatmadaw’s investigation related to incidents in Rakhine State, matters concerning to scrutinize and re-accept Bengalis who left for Bangladesh under the law, promotion of cooperation between Japanese Self-Defence Forces and Myanmar Tatmadaw, and sending of trainees.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers. The Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Minister-Counsellor Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA of the Japanese Embassy to Myanmar, the Japanese Military Attaché and officials.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Japanese Deputy Minister exchanged commemorative gifts.
