In honour of the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee of the Union Day and in commemoration of the first anniversary of the performance of duties of the State by the State Administration Council, the ceremony to inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee Museum of Myanmar Radio and Television and to launch the MRTV News Channel and the MRTV DTH system was held at the MRTV in Tatkon in Nay Pyi Taw Council Terrority this afternoon and Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and formally opened the ceremony.
Also present at the ceremony were members General Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Mahn Nyein Maung, Daw Aye Nu Sein, U Moung Har, U Sai Lone Hsai, Dr Banya Aung Moe, U Shwe Kyein and Joint Secretary Lt- Gen Ye Win Oo of the SAC, Chairman U Thein Soe of the Union Election Commission, union ministers, the chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers, artistes from films and tradition troupes and musicians, staff from the MRTV and guests.
First, the Senior General was welcomed by staff of the MRTV, artistes and male and female members of national races.
Then, the Senior General formally inaugurated the Diamond Jubilee Museum of the MRTV by pressing a button and sprinkled scented water on the stone plaque of the museum.
Afterwards, the Senior General and participants enjoyed the video clip entitled “Towards the MRTV Diamond Jubilee Museum” in the mini-theatre of the museum and Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presented the emblem commemorating the inauguration of the museum to the Senior General with all due respect.
Then, the Senior General and party inspected the booths of the scale models of buildings and towers, broadcasting equipments and vehicles, documentary
photographs of relay stations, 75-year old Myanmar traditional orchestra drums, modern music band and instruments traditional instruments of national races, gramophones and related equipment, books and documents on grand music and songs, other broadcasting related equipment of the MRTV in successive eras and signed the guest book of the museum.
Then, the Senior General formally opened the launching ceremony of the MRTV News Channel and the MRTV DTH system in commemoration of the first anniversary of the performance of state duties by the SAC held at the Auditorium of the MRTV.
First, staff of the MRTV performed “The MRTV and Auspicious Day” music and dances and screened the video documenting the one-year endeavours of the SAC.
In his address the Senior General said the Myanma Radio emerged together with national independence. It is a centre enriching the whole country with educational and general knowledge. It has already passed its Diamond Jubilee. During the Senior General’s visit to MRTV, arrangements were made to build the Diamond Jubilee museum. It is an honor for MRTV to open the museum after a year. In assuming the State duties in accord with the Constitution on 1 February 2021, SAC has adopted the five-point roadmap and nine political, economic and social objectives and set up the provisional government to facilitate the task of ensuring national peace, stability and progress and develop ment of the socio-economy of the people. Since then, the government has been exerting utmost efforts. The Tatmadaw is also helping to bring justice, peace and progress to the country.
It is also striving to restore ceasefire and perpetual peace in the entire country. The country must be free from foreignbased disturbances as the present time calls for peaceful cooperation in the domestic affairs within the legal framework.
All the people should find out the actual reason behind the attempts to stir up disturbances and terrorist acts to destroy the country, and should collective oppose and stop them.
The media must provide the people with knowledge and ideology in connection with democracy and encourage and assist all youths to pursue education properly till becoming intellectuals.
It must also join hands in opposing the instigations to cause national instability through the spread of fake news and false news, hate speech and rumors and bringing them to a stop. In addition, it must provide the public with true information. State-owned MRTV must observe the ethics while keeping in the fore the public interest. Likewise, it must successfully serve the interest of the State and its citizens through media.
The museum is located in a separate room of the former MRTV main building to display historical documents on MRTV’s involvement in nation-building tasks and its programs during the past 75 years with the goal of acquiring the knowledge of maintaining equipment and vehicles, systematically displaying or using them and keeping and valuing them.
During the inspection conducted at the earlier period of the government in office, arrangements were made to build a separate museum in front of the main building to signify the seasoned and admirable MRTV. Thanks to the detailed display programs of officials the museum has become a reality now.
Currently, the MRTV Diamond Jubilee Museum show cases scale models, broadcasting vehicles, machinery and equipment, CDs and tapes, and musical instruments in respective sectors for observation.
Moreover, visitors can visit newscaster rooms and telecasting in virtual studio in addition to display of materials used by MRTV in successive eras for observation at a single place to get invaluable knowledge and thoughts.
In couple with the opening of the MRTV Diamond Jubilee Museum, the MRTV DTH system will be launched to regularly operate broadcasting of the MRTV News Channel. Today’s launched MRTV News Channel will rapidly broadcast true news for the people to rebut fake news, false news, rumours and incitements which may bring danger to the country by some media breaking ethics. MRTV News Channel will feature the translated international news to the audiences for knowing knowledge about various events across the world.
Today’s MRTV DTH system will cover the whole country.
The MRTV launched its broadcasting in the Analogue system in 1980 and applied digital (DVB-T2) system in 2013. Now, it will improve the broadcasting facilities through digital (DTH) system. So, the Stateowned TV broadcasting will have the digitalization process in conformity with the currentera as part of efforts to remove the illegal satellite dishes in the nation.
As such, the MRTV is a main pillar to the media sector of Myanmar for ensuring peace and stability of the State and socio-economic development of the people. Moreover, it is a media playing a crucial role to nurture the new generation youth to have correct knowledge and thoughts in order to ensure peace, tranquility and development of the future nation. In addition, efforts must be made for ensuring a strong bridge among the government, the Tatmadaw and the people as much as possible.
Today is time to restore the perpetual peace across the nation to build the Union based on democracy and federalism the entire people aspire. Meanwhile, the government is striving for improvement of socioeconomy such as transport, electrification, agriculture, livestock, education and health sectors with might and main to ensure peace and stability of the State, prosperous country and all-round development of the nation Hence, the entire people need to cooperate with the tasks and the MRTV was urged to strive for serving the interests of the State and the citizens.
Then, the Senior General launched the MRTV News Channel and MRTV DTH system as a gesture of hailing the 1st anniversary of the State Administration Council.
Director General U Ye Naing of MRTV presented an MRTV DHT receiver and a two-foot satellite dish to the Senior General. Artistes and staff of MRTV entertained song entertainments.
The Senior General presenteda flower basket and cash award to artistes and MRTV staff. After the ceremony, the Senior General and attendees were served with tea service.
The museum was set as a separate room in the main building of MRTV in Nay Pyi Taw (Tatkon). On 15 February 2021 coincided with the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of MRTV, the Senior General launched the museum. In accord with the guidance of the Senior General, the two-storey building was constructed as the museum in order to display scale models of buildings used by MRTV,
machinery used for TV broadcasting, direct broadcast vehicles and other equipment at 40 booths in line with the prestige of the MRTV which experienced in successive eras.
