NAY PYI TAW February 10
Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with members of Magway Region Government and district and township level officials at the parlour of the local battalion and discussed regional development tasks this afternoon.
Also present at the meeting were entourages of the Senior General, the chief minister of the Magway Region Government, the commander of the Central Command and officers, members of the regional government and district and township level officials.
First, ministers of the regional government and district administrators reported to the Senior General on releasing fingerlings into rivers and creeks, formation of cooperatives to breed goats, the cultivation of cotton, the completion of vaccination against COVID-19 and regional security and the rule of law.
After hearing the reports, the Senior General pointed out the need to release fingerlings into rivers and creeks systematically and said that it would be more beneficial to apply the cage breeding system in cow and goat breeding not only for live-stocking but also for agriculture as it would also produce natural fertilizer for agriculture. More layers and broilers should be raised in Magway Region. In breeding chickens, it can be seen that it is more beneficial to use the evaporation type, which can be operated by the solar system on sunny days. It is necessary to supply meat, fish and eggs at cheaper prices to help enable the public to eat food nutritiously. An ordinary person needs to consume about 10 ticals of meat and three eggs every day. Therefore, the government has been releasing fingerlings into rivers and creeks across the country.
In connection with edible oil production, it is necessary to take measures to use modern oil extraction machines as the ones used currently cannot extract oil until no oil is left in the oil pulp and it can be seen that there is oil left in the oil pulp used for animal feed. It is important to take measures to produce fertilizers and animal feed from oil pulp. As there are many toddy palm trees in Magway Region and the use of toddy palm trees is a tradition in Myanmar. It is vital to preserve the toddy palm trees and their products to prevent them from extinction. It is necessary to boost the peracre yield of cotton.
It is essential to replant trees as a national duty so that there are many forests and trees in the region. In agriculture, it is vital to cultivate plants in acre plots and to utilize the mechanical agriculture system. It is necessary for state-owned factories to manufacture tractors and to foster them to enable farmers to use high quality tractors at cheaper prices. In implementing mechanized farming, it is important to build pro-duction roads and it can also reduce the labour shortages.
It is necessary to steps to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the region by enforcing traffic and roads rules as traffic accidents are caused by negligence of traffic rules and carelessness. It is necessary to erect traffic and road signs systematically while measures must be taken to prevent the use of unlicensed vehicles. It is also important to take measures to enforce motorcycle users to wear helmets.
It is necessary to narrow the gap between urban areas and rural areas and therefore to implement rural development tasks as much as possible. In administrative affairs, it is necessary to carry out tasks in accordance with the authority given by the law as the democracy system is being practiced.
In conclusion, the Senior General urged the regional government to take every measure to serve the interest of the people in accord with the law at township, district and state/regional levels.
