The 2023 Diamond Jubilee Independence Day celebration was observed at Bo Shugan Square here this morning. Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address and took the salute of the parade columns hailing the event.
Also present were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the SAC Secretary, the SAC Joint Secretary, SAC members and their wives, former Vice President Thray Sithu Dr Sai Mauk Kham and wife, former Vice President Thray Sithu U Nyan Tun and wife, families of State leaders of the past successive eras, Union level officials, advisers to the SAC Chairman, retired generals and lieutenant generals of Tatmadaw, Union ministers and their wives, members of Union level organizations, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, chief ministers of regions and states, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, military command commanders, deputy ministers, ambassadors and charge d’ affaires of foreign missions, honorary consuls, recipients of Diamond Jubilee commemorative honour ary titles, representatives of NCA signatory and non-signatory EAOs, heads of department, senior officers of Nay Pyi Taw Command and stations, national races, artists, NGOs and honoured guests.
Flag bearers and parade batt-alions led by Parade Commander Lt-Gen Aung Aung that would salute the Senior General mar-ched from the gathering point to the square where they took positions.
At 7 am, the Senior General arrived at the podium at the square. Parade battalions saluted him. At the same time, the artillery troops performed a 21-gun salute, and 750 white doves were released in honour of the Diamond Jubilee.
The Senior General and the parade columns and attendees saluted the State Flag and the fallen Arzani Leaders (Martyrs) and soldiers.
A two-minute silence was observed in memory of the persons who sacrificed live and limb for the perpetuation of independence and sovereignty, and the oath of the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day was also taken.
Afterwards, the Senior General inspected parade battalions, vehicles honouring the ceremony, and mechanized companies of Tatmadaw and Ministry of Home Affairs.

Fifteen planes including MTX-1A test-produced by Tatmadaw (Air) and PT-6 flew in front of Bo Shugan building in English number 75 formation to salute the Senior General.
State Flag bearers led by the parade commander, Tatmadaw (Army) flag bearers, company representing Tatmadaw (Army), company representing Ministry of Defence, company representing MoHA and company representing Ministry of Foreign Affairs as No 1 Battalion, Tatmadaw (Navy) flag bearers, company representing Tatmadaw (Navy), company representing Myanmar War Veterans Organization, company representing Ministry of Border Affairs and Tatmadaw (Army) military band as No 2 Battalion, Tatmadaw (Air) flag bearers, company representing Tatmadaw (Air), company re-presenting Ministry of Planning and Finance, company representing Ministry of Legal Aff-airs and company representing Ministry of Information as No 3 Battalion, Myanmar Police Force flag bearers, company representing MPF, company representing Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, company representing Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and MPF band as No 4 Battalion saluted the Senior General.
Next, the flag-bearer team of Myanmar Fire Brigade, the companies representing Myanmar Fire Brigade, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation as Battalion (5), the flag-bearer team of the Ministry of Planning and Finance and the companies representing the Ministry of Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Energy and the band of Myanmar Fire Brigade as Battalion (6), the flag-bearer team of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the companies represent-ing the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Education as Battalion (7), the flag-bearer team of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the companies representing the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the drum and fife band of the students from Nay Pyi Taw BEHS (1) as Battalion (8), the flag-bearer team of the Ministry of Construction, the companies representing the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs as Battalion (9) and the State Central Band marched and gave their salutes.
Meanwhile, Mi-35 P helicopter hanging down the State flag flanked by two Eurocopter helicopters, Mi-2, H-120 and H-125 aircraft in groups, three Y-12 transport aircraft, one ATR 72 transport aircraft and two Beech transport aircraft, one Fokker 70 transport aircraft and two MiG-29 multi-purpose jet fighters, five K-8 W jet fighters featuring the colours of the State flag with use of smoke trail, one A-5 bomber and three Yak-130 jet fighters, four F-7 interceptor aircraft and four FTC-2000 G jet fighters were flying in salutation.
At the same time, the students from the basic education high schools in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area gave demonstrations of letter formations such as “The 75th Anniversary of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” (4.1.2023), the Stage flag image of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, “Unity is strength,” the image of the statue of a man breaking the firewood surrounded by eight major ethnics, “Safeguard the Independence”, the image of a white dove flying with an olive branch in its mouth, “Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal” and “See you again”.
Meanwhile, 75 male and female officers and other ranks from the free-fall parachute team jumped from 7,500 feet above with the flags of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), the flags representing the Nay Pyi Taw Council, regions and states and ministries handing down in salutation.
Then, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing took the salute of the commemorative decorated floats and Yaza Win royal troupe comprising the king, crown heir, queens, princes and princesses, ladies-in-waiting, ministers, advisers, commanders, the rich, royal relatives and royal officers on elephants and horses.
Then, the companies of successive eras representing BIA, BDA, BNA, PBF, BA, Berry, Gurkha, Point-303 and 52 Sten, Tatmadaw (Army) decorated float (2), female soldiers from the Myanmar Tatmadaw showing martial art skills, Tatmadaw (Army) decorated float (3), soldiers from the Myanmar Tatmadaw showing martial art skills, Tatmadaw (Navy) decorated float, soldiers from the counter-terrorism corps and security battalion showing fighting skills, Tatmadaw (Air) decorated float and male and female members of Myanmar Police Force show-ing skills marched and gave their salutes.
Decorated vehicles commemorating the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day and depicting landmarks in states and regions in Myanmar, social characteristics, traditions and products from the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State, Chin State, Sagaing Region, Tanin-thayi Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, Mandalay Region, Mon State, Rakhine State, Yangon Region, Shan State and Ayeyawady Region and troupes presented songs and dances while decorated vehicles from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Border Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Finance, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Legal Affairs, The Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the Ministry of Agri-culture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Electric Power, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs marched in demonstration of the tasks of the respective ministries.
Among the Mechanized Column led by Brig-Gen Zaw Min Thein, the post-modern mechanized company, the post-modern armour company, the mechanized artillery company, the mechanized missile company, the mechanized armour company, the mechanized air defence company, the mechanized military engineering com-pany, the mechanized company of the Defence Services (Navy) and the mechanized company of the Ministry of Home Affairs marched and saluted the Senior General.
During the parade, K-8 W jet fighters from the Defence Ser-vices (Air) saluted the Senior General by flying over the parade ground while emitting smoke trails representing the colours of the National Flag such as yellow, green and red. At the same time, two Su-30 multi-role heavy jet fighters and two MIG-29 multi-role jet fighters saluted the Senior General by flying in the Composite Box Formation and performing Fan Breaks.
The cultural dance troupe together with the decorated vehicle commemorating the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day saluted the Senior General by performing Pyae Yadana song and dances while an Su-30 multi-role heavy jet fighter saluted the Senior General by performing advanced maneuver called the High Performance Maneuver and launching day time colour smoke firework display.
During the parade, the Senior General and wife and dignitaries greeted the marching and saluting vehicles decorated in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, demonstration teams and troupes by warmly waving hands.
After the parade, the Senior General and wife greeted the attendees cordially and left the parade grounds, where the ceremony to commemorate the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee of Independence Day took place.
