Nay Pyi Taw, November 23
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the People’s Republic of China on a goodwill visit, met Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Gen. Xu Qiliang at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing this evening.
Also present together with the Senior General were senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Thit Linn Ohn and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Tint Hsan. Gen. Xu Qiliang was accompanied by senior officers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Gen. Xu Qiliang posed for documentary photo together with the senior military officers of the two countries in attendance.
Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Gen. Xu Qiliang cordially discussed the strategic relations between the two countries, China’s support for Myanmar in the issue of Bengali terrorist attacks in Rakhine State, promotion of cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, successful holding of the 19th Chinese Communist Party Conference and adoption of strategies and policies on China’s future development and border peace and stability.
In the evening, Gen. Xu Qiliang hosted a dinner in honour of the Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. After the dinner, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Gen. Xu Qiliang exchanged gifts.
