Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects training sessions of local Main Naval Diving and Salvage Unit near Thandwe in Rakhine State

Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Commander of Western Command Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and officials, inspected training sessions and unit development undertakings of the local Main Naval Diving and Salvage Unit near Thandwe in Rakhine State.

On arrival at the floating jetty of the unit where naval demonstrations and trainings would be carried out, the Senior General and party were welcomed by the commandant and officials.

The Senior General and party observed a demonstration of Cast & Recovery in which eight members of naval special operation troop secretly boarded and left an enemy ship and blew it up. After the demonstration, the Senior General took the salute of the participant members of the special ops, and urged them to put more energy in the coming trainings to enhance their capability.

Then, the Senior General and party heard a report on the brief history of the unit, ongoing unit development undertakings, task to achieve the missions, training sessions, sending of trainees abroad, study tours abroad and study tours of foreign delegations, involvement in public welfare undertakings and natural disaster prevention, unit organizing and welfare for families, and manageable farming presented by the local unit commander.

The Senior General gave necessary guidance and fulfilled the needs of the unit.

The Senior General and party inspected the training sessions carried at the Training Pool including tenmetre tower jump, 50-metre hand-leg-tied swimming after a fivemetre dive, 50-metre underwater freestyle swimming, scuba gear installation and uninstallation. Afterwards, they viewed equipment and weapons used in training, salvaging, security duties, lifesaving, mine clearing and rescue operations and documentary photos of the training sessions and services.

The Senior General and party inspected underwater disturbance training, scuba tank sharing, underwater swimming with the help of closed circuit under water compass, looked around 10 Men Hyperbaric Medical Treatment Chamber and Diving Tower and observed escape training of the navy personnel.

The Senior General and party observed the demonstration of Climbing Wall, Fast Rope, Rappelling Rope, obstacle chase training sessions by eight special ops instructors at the Training Tower. The Senior General presented cash awards to them and looked into the requirements in providing trainees with superior training methods.
