SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets officers, other ranks and families of Thandwe Station
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing this morning met with officers, other ranks and families in Thandwe Station of Rakhine State.
Also present at the meeting were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Commander- in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in- Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Commander of Western Command Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and officials.
Political progress
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General expressed his delightedness with meeting officers, other ranks and families of Thandwe Station. Tatmadaw is serving the duties of State security and defence, and rule of law while cementing the multi-party democratic system and taking care of not occurring violent acts under the law.
The Senior General explained exercising multi-party democratic system by global countries, occurrence of voting frauds in the 2022 multi-party democracy general election in Myanmar, not solving the voting frauds, a political declaration of the state of emergency in the country, and serving State responsibilities by the Tatmadaw, crises in outbreak of COVID-19, legally controlling violent events triggered by instigations of political opportunists, and efforts for political, economic and social development and peace and stability of the State in implementing the policies and objectives.
The Senior General highlighted enhancement of economy of the State, saying that weak management and lack of encouragement to domestic economy of the previous government affected decline of State economy with a large amount of trade deficit. Because of lack of encouraging domestic manufacturing, local people went abroad for seeking jobs.
Striving for enhancement of State economy
Hence, the Senior General underscored that the government is encouraging domestic manufacturing in order to surge the economy while emphasizing the MSME businesses suitable for the State economy. It can be seen that the country sees development of economy to some degree at present. The government pays back foreign loans. The government pledged to strive for further improving the local economy. Myanmar is blessed with under and above ground and water resources. If these natural resources can be utilized with human resources systematically, State economy will surge. If everybody strives for boosting State economy with momentum, Myanmar will reach the middle class of economy among ASEAN countries in a short time. Encouragement must be given to agriculture and livestock farms for achieving greater development so as to contribute to manufacturing measures for earning greater amount of foreign exchange.
Take measures for the welfare and education promotion of Tatmadaw members
Within the Tatmadaw, it is necessary to engage in militaryowned and small-scale agricultural and livestock breeding businesses for the welfare of Tatmadaw members. It’s an honour to conduct such businesses, and their success will benefit the country. The Tatmadaw has arranged everything it could for the livelihoods of Tatmadaw members and families. Moreover, measures are being taken for the education promotion of Tatmadaw members.
While grades in education are required, reading is also necessary to be educated. Then, they will have skills and knowledge as well as professional skills in their respective subjects. As parents, they also need to try to encourage and improve the education of their children. Necessary assistance is being provided for the education promotion of Tatmadaw families.
Books and publications have been provided for the libraries in the military units and battalions for the knowledge of officers and other ranks. So, they need to constant read them. Since food and accommodation as well as things for improved knowledge have been provided, Tatmadaw members are urged to shoulder their duties by being loyal to the State and the Tatmadaw.
The Tatmadaw is working for good sake of the country. Tatmadaw members for their part need to act like fire and fury against the enemy and peace and love towards the people. They must try not only to improve themselves but also to serve for the best interests of the country and the Tatmadaw.
Food and cash awards presented
The Senior General presented food for the Tatmadaw members to the commander and the wife of the Senior General presented cash awards for the station maternal and child welfare association to the commander’s wife.
After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted the officers and other ranks and their families. Then, the requirements were fulfilled. Later, the Senior General presented an oil painting to the commander. The painting features fierce fighting between Myanmar royal troops led by Maha Thiha Thura (Myawady Mingyi U Sa) under the control of Commander Maha Bandoola and British troops settled beside a lake near the Panwa River on 17 May 1824 during the first Anglo-Myanmar war.
