Final and prize-giving ceremony of State Administration Council Chairman’s Trophy 2023 Diamond Jubilee Independence Day Commemorative Inter-Ministry U-25 Men’s Football Tourney was held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium here this evening. Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing watched the final match and gave away prizes to winners.
Also present were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC members, Union level officials, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, deputy ministers, managers, coaches and athletes of ministry sports teams, ministry officials and staff, officials of Myanmar Football Federation, sports enthusiasts.
The two finalists, Ministry of Planning and Finance team and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team, played a thrilling match with all out efforts. MoPF scored an opener in first 15 minutes. As the MoSYA got an equalizer four minutes later, the first-half ended with a 1-1 draw. During the exciting secondhalf, MoPF scored three more goals and won the championship trophy with 4-1.
At the prize-giving ceremony, SAC members U Moung Har, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Daw Aye Nu Sein, U Khin Maung Swe and Mahn Nyein Maung presented medals and cash awards to best athletes.
SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun presented individual medals, honorary awards and cash awards to the four third-prize winner Ministry of Border Affairs team, SAC member Admiral Tin Aung San, individual medals, honorary awards and cash awards to the third-prize winner Ministry of Home Affairs team, SAC member General Mya Tun Oo, individual medals, honorary awards and cash awards to the second-prize winner MoSYA team.
SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo presented individual medals to championship trophy winner MoPF team.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented cash awards and championship trophy to MoPF, and cordially greeted footballers.
MoSYA organized the football matches, which began on 16 December, with the goal of improving the Myanmar sports level and bringing about outstanding footballers.
In today’s final, MoPF beat MoSYA and won the championship trophy.
