Eastern Command team and Camp Commandant’s Office of the Office of Commander-inChief (Army) team met at the final match of 60th Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services’ Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) Football Tournament held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw this evening.
Before the start of the match, vocalists of the Myawady music troupe of the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare entertained the fans of the two teams and sports enthusiasts with songs and music.
Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-inChief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, the Commander-inChief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-inChief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, senior officer trainees of National Defence College, officers, other ranks and families of the relevant departments of Office of Commander-in-Chief and Nay Pyi Taw Command HQ, trainees of Tatmadaw Football Academy, invited guests and sports enthusiasts watched the match.
The two finalists played with all-out efforts to score the opener as their efficiency was at the same level. The Eastern Command team got its first goal at the 4th minute. But Camp Commandant’s Office of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) team could control the ball well, dominated the match and scored the equalizer at the 16th minute.
Both sides got chances to score goals. The Eastern Command teams scored its second goal in 39th minute and the third goal in 46th minute with precise shots. Hence, it led the match with a 3-1 result at the end of of Commander-in-Chief (Army) team got two goals — one in 66 minutes and another in 90+3 minutes. Hence, the second half ended in a three all draw.
The two teams exerted allout efforts and played with full sporting spirit. As the extra time ended with the same result a penalty shootout followed. After the penalty shootout the Camp Commandant’s Office of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) team earned a welldeserved win with a 6-5 result.
Then, the ceremony to give prizes away was held. Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Maj-Gen Saw Than Hlaing presented a trophy and cash prize to Yangon Command team who won the fair-play award in B Class event of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament, Military Appoint-General Lt-Gen Lin Aung cash prizes and medals to Western Command team who won the third place in B Class event of the tournament and Yangon Command team who won the third place in A Class event, Adjutant General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo cash prizes and medals to South-West Command team who won the second place in B Class event and Eastern Command team who won the second place in A Class event.
Afterwards, Lt-Gen Tayza Kyaw of the Office of Commanderin-Chief (Army) presented cash prizes and medals to the players who won the best player award in each position in the B Class event. Lt-Gen Thet Pon of Office of the Commander-in-Chief cash prizes and medals to the players who won the best player award in each position in A Class event, Commander-inChief (Air) General Tun Aung individual medals to players of Southern Command team who won the first place in B Class event and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung individual medals to players of the team of Camp Commandant Office of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) who won the first place in A Class event of the tournament. Then, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye presented the championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, replicated trophy and cash prizes to the Southern Command team who won the first place in B Class event of the tournament.
Afterwards, Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented the championship trophy, replicated trophy and cash prizes to the team of Camp Commandant Office of the Office of Comman-der-in-Chief (Army) who won the first place in A Class event of the tournament.
The 60th Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tourna ment was held in two-class events – A Class event and B Class event. 16 teams competed in the A Class event and eight teams in the B Class event. The first round of group stage matches took place in zones based on military commands. The knockout stage and final matches were held at Zeyathiri Tatma[1]daw Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw starting November 6. Today, the final match and the prize presentation ceremony were successfully held.
