A ceremony to confer honorary titles to mark the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day to relevant recipients took place at the Thabin Hall of the office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council this morning, attended by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.
Also present at the ceremony were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Mini ster Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the council secretary and wife, the joint secretary and wife, council members and their wives, Union level dignitaries, Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander in- Chief, title recipients and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that the country has been preserving own culture and customs for many years, and the country where national brethren have been residing in the country in unison together under the own monarchy, has been standing tall as a sovereign nation in the international community. But, as colonialists wedged the country in three aggressive wars in the late 19th century, Myanmar lost its independence and sovereignty in 1885.
Perpetuation of Independence and sovereignty of a nation can lost in a snapshot period but it is necessary to take a long time for regaining Independence. Under the leadership of National Leader General Aung San, as all national brethren strived for regaining Independence in unity, perseverance and courage, Myanmar could stand tall as an independent country in the global community on a grand scale on 4 January 1948. Hence, today is the very significant Independence Day which turns 76 years.
While striving for ensuring perpetuity of the Union, it is necessary to specially emphasize nation-building endeavour processes such as peace and stability of the whole Union, rule of law, promotion of State economy, enhancement of socio-economic life of the entire people, and cementing genuine, disciplined multi-party democratic system.
In implementing the nation building tasks, all stakeholders from relevant sectors are joining hands with officials from the main estates of the nation such as the State Administration Council and the Union government. On the occasion of the 76 Anniversary of Independence Day of the country, this ceremony was held for honouring the persons who sacrificed for the State.
Honorary titles will be conferred on those for their excellent performance in building a peaceful, modern and developed nation, making sacrifice of life in safeguarding the Our Three Main National Causes, excellent efforts in economic, social and public administration sectors of the State, who showed their utmost efforts in civilian and military affairs for the sake of the nation, excellent international level creations in science, arts and other significant sub jects for the nation and the national, who showed their highest level skills in literary and fine arts genre and excellent performances in security, peace and stability and rule of law for the State with relentless efforts on the 76th Anniversary of significant Independence Day occasion.
At today’s ceremony, Thray Sithu title will be conferred on nine recipients, Sithu title on five, Thura title on six, Thiri Pyanchi title on 42, Wunna Kyaw Htin title on 83, Alinka Kyaw Swa title on four and Theikpa Kyaw Swa title on four, totalling 153. As such, relevant recipient persons will be delighted and their families can take pride in their excellent performance in future generations.
At a time when Anniversary of Independence Day turns 76, the government is striving for development of the nation with cementing the genuine, disciplined multi-party democratic system, building the Union based on democratic system and federalism, political, economic and social objectives such as prosperity and food security of the State, promotion of intelligence and technologies, health and fitness of entire people. In so doing, as the country will need more efforts of intellectuals and intelligentsia in all sectors and ethnic people together with the government, they all were deeply urged to join hands with the government for ensuring perpetuity of the State, peace and prosperity, and development.
Then, the Senior General conferred Thray Sithu title on four recipients, Sithu title on three, Thura title on six, Thiri Pyanchi title on 16, Wunna Kyaw Htin title on 58, Alinka Kyaw Swa title on three and Theikpa Kyaw Swa title on four individually.
The Senior General posed for documentary photos together with those title recipients.
After the ceremony, the Senior General cordially greeted the attendees, title recipients and their families.
