Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets officers, other ranks and families from Cocokyun Station
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commanderin- Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aungand wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein and officials, met with officers, other ranks and families from Cocokyun Station at the hall of the station this afternoon.
Delivering an address, the Senior General said the Tatmadaw members and their families here need to arrange for their children to enjoy their school holidays efficiently. It is learnt that drum and Myanmar’s basic martial art course are being conducted. He then called for opening basic computer courses and reviewing the lessons the students were taught in the previous academic year. He said their children should be inherited a good legacy of education and trained systematically since childhood.
Measures must be taken to ensure every school-age child goes to school regularly and really completes basic school education. Then, they will have good education foundation.
The Myanmar traditional Thingyan Festival period must be passed happily and it is necessary to maintain the culture in a disciplined manner. They need to perform their duties dutifully while they also need to enjoy their holidays for their rest and recreation. Cocokyun region has significantly changed and developed thanks to the cooperation between the local people and battalions rather than the fulfilments from State leaders. Continued cooperation is necessary for the region develop more. Afterwards, the Senior General wished the officers, other ranks and families physical and mental wellbeing and greater success in the coming New Year.
Then, the Senior General presented foodstuffs for the Tatmadaw members and families, and Daw Kyu Kyu Hla cash awards for the station maternal and child welfare association to the local naval base commandant and wife.
After the meeting, the Senior General, wife and party splashed traditional Thingyan water on the officers, other ranks and families as a gesture welcoming Myanmar New Year.
This afternoon also, the Senior General and party inspected agricultural and livestock breeding activities in Cocokyun Station.
First, the Senior General and party visited the 1.66-acre cocoa plantation No.1 and 3.34-acre plantation No.2 of the local naval base. After hearing reports by officials, the Senior General said cocoa trees are thriving in Dawei region. With similar soil condition, Cocokyun also has potential for success in growing them. Cocoa seed is mainly used for making chocolate. It has health benefits as well as high demand. Successful growing of cocoa will facilitate regional progress. He then gave other necessary instructions.
Then, the Senior General and party went to the 7th Mile turtle hatchery camp and the turtle breeding camp of the local naval base and inspected the breeding to turtles there. After hearing reports, the Senior General gave necessary guidance on systematic keeping of sea turtles in Cocokyun region.
Then, the Senior General and wife released two three-yearold sea turtles into the sea as a meritorious deed prior to the Thingyan period. The entourage members and their wives also released turtles into the sea.
Later, the Senior General and party proceeded to the cow farm of the local naval base. After hearing reports by officials, the Senior General gave instructions on extension of cow breeding and systematic feeding of the cows.
