Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Special Envoy of the ASEAN Alternate Chair on Myanmar H.E. Mr. Alounkeo KITTIKHOUN and Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. KAO KIM HOURN at the Credentials Hall of his office here at 10.30 am today.

Present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, union ministers U Than Swe, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Dr Soe Win and officials. The special envoy, the former Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Laos, was accompanied by the ASEAN secretary general, Executive Director of AHA Mr.LEE YAM MING, Ambassador of Laos to Myanmar H.E. Mr.Heuangseng KHAMDALAVONG and officials.

At the meeting views on Myanmar’s best efforts for cooperation with the ASEAN, Myanmar’s participation in ASEAN meetings, ASEAN’s humanitarian to Myanmar and the best collaborative efforts to ensure aid reaches the actual people who need assistance, efforts to implement the multiparty democracy system aspired by the people, preparations to hold free and fair multi-party democracy general elections, the importance of the awareness of Myanmar’s real situation, SAC’s implementation of the five-point roadmap for national peace and stability and progress, ASEAN’s involvement in peaceful resolution of Myanmar’s situation, and the topics on the appropriate areas of Myanmar-ASEAN cooperation were cordially exchanged.

After the meeting the Senior General presented replicas of Maravijaya Buddha Image to the special envoy, the secretary general and the AHA Center executive director and posed for a documentary photo with the delegation.
