Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by the entourage and chief ministers of Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing regions, the Central Command commander and officials, inspected functions of private farms and local production businesses in Meiktila and Wundwin townships, Meiktila District.
Goat and sheep breeding
First, the Senior General and party visited U Mya Han goat and sheep farm on Meiktila-Thazi road and heard a report on livestock breeding activities, animal feed made from local goods, which are, cotton husk, plum husk, bean pulp, groundnut sticks, presented by the business owner U Mya Han. In response, the Senior General expressed pleasure to witness a successful local business. He said farms must be upgraded and systematic methods must be adopted, rather than relying on old traditional means. A direct dealing system between the producers and consumers must be implemented as more middlemen mean higher prices.
Breeders should set up meat production factory to produce quality products such as chilled meat and dried meat, rather selling the whole animal. Local authorities must make arrangements for the breeders to get reasonable profits and the availability of meat at reasonable prices for the buyers. The Senior General inquired about their hardships and made arrangements to solve their problems.
Garden Family goat farm
The Senior General and party arrived at Garden Family goat farm at Hsuphyukhet Village and heard reports on the functions,
breeding of quality goat strains, feeding system, napier grass cultivation, presented by entrepreneur U Maung Myint. In response, the Senior General expressed pleasure to witness the effective use of local raw materials and the success of the farm. Research must be conducted on softness and nutrition level of goats age wise and strain wise. Breeders must constantly study the breeding and feeding systems of other countries and attended to the needs. He cordially greeted the staff members of the farm.
Kaung Htet San milk cow breeding farm
The Senior General and party visited Kaung Htet San milk cow breeding farm at Tawma Village and business owner U Khin Maung Win reported on ongoing functions, milk cow and calve breeding, daily milk output, production of milk and related goods from WinWin Tama condensed milk factory.
The Senior General asked for more information and directed means to substitute imported dairy products with the locally produced ones.
Leader of Textile Public Co.,Ltd
In Wundwin Township, Meiktila District, the Senior General and party visited Leader of Textile Public Co., Ltd collectively established by weaving industrialists from Wundwin, Thazi, Meiktila, Shwedaung and Amarapura townships to modernize local weaving businesses that were relying on traditional methods, and to manufacture quality goods not only for domestic market, but also for export. The Senior General heard a report on functions of the business and hardships presented by member of the board of directors U Hla Bu and engineer U Aung Naing Tun. He asked for more information and coordinated means to solve the problems.
Keinnari quality sarong production group
They then visited Keinnari quality sarong production group, Shwe Thedaw, company in Wundwin and heard a report on spinning operations, weaving operations, local job generation and quality control activities presented U Myat Moe Win and Daw Than Than Aye of the company, who also conducted the Senior General and party round the display of sarongs. In response, the Senior General said some textile factories have to import cotton fibers for their production business. Use of quality added local cotton fibers will benefit the industry and reduce production cost.
A research program must be launched to rely on locally made cotton fibers. He inquired about the difficulties and coordinated means to overcome them.
