Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla,
accompanied by their entourage, the chief minister of Mandalay Region, the commander of the Central Command and officials, visited No (5) Basic Education High School (Shande) in Meiktila this morning and encouraged peaceful learning activities of students there.
First, the Senior General and wife and party arrived at the school, where they were welcomed by headmaster U Ko Ko Naing, regional education officer U Kyaw Moe Tun and teachers.
Then, the Senior General and wife warmly encouraged peaceful learning activities of students and attended to the needs reported by the teachers.
Afterward, the Senior General inspected the school hall, the library and the school compound and after hearing reports, urged officials to take measures for enabling students to learn peacefully and happily, cleanliness and pleasantness of the school environment, sufficient supplies of school furniture and teaching aids and nurturing the habit of reading extracurricular books at the school library to enable students not only to be good at school subjects but also to gain knowledge compatible with their ages.
Then, the Senior General and wife presented People’s Science books for the school library and foodstuffs for students to the headmaster.
Afterward, the Senior General cordially greeted the teachers and fulfilled the needs of the school reported by them.
