The Waso robe offering ceremony 2024 of the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar took place at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this morning, attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who offered Waso robes and alms.
Present to pay respects to 27 Sayadaws led by Ovadacariya Sayadaws of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees led by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Patron of Thanlyin Minkyaung Pathamapyan Sarthintaik in Thanlyin, Yangon Region, Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, and Secretary of SSMNC Patron of Masoeyein Taikthit, Mandalay, Sayadaw of Dhammathamiddhi Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Maha Dhamma Kathika Bahujana Hitadhara Bhaddanta Vasethabhivamsa were the Senior General and wife, Vice Chairman of SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the Secretary of SAC and wife, the Joint Secretary of SAC and wife, members of SAC and wives union-level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials.
Firstly, the Senior General paid homage to the Buddha Image inside the Sasana Maha Beikman and offered meals in the emerald alms-bowl, fruits, flowers, water and oil lights to the Buddha Image.
Next, the congregation led by the Senior General and wife received the Five Precepts from the Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.
The congregation meditated on Metta Sutta Paritta recited by Sayadaws.
Then, the Senior General and wife offered Waso robe and alms to the Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.
The Vice-Senior General offered Waso robe and alms to Masoeyein Taikthit Sayadaw.
The Secretary of SAC and wife, the Joint Secretary of SAC and wife, members of SAC and wives, union level dignitaries, offered Waso robes and alms to the Sayadaws respectively.
Masoeyein Taikthit Sayadaw delivered a sermon, and merits gained were shared. The ceremony came to a close after the three-time recitation of Buddha Sasanam Ciram Tittatu.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife and the attendees offered day meal to the monks.
