Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected locomotive assembling plant (Nay Pyi Taw) of mechanical and electrical engineering department of Myanma Railways, Ministry of Transport and Communications and National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) in Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this morning.

The Senior General was welcomed by SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, union ministers General Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, Dr Charlie Than, U Myo Thant, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo, Nay Pyi Yaw Command Commander Maj-Gen Soe Min and officials at the plant.

The Senior General and party were conducted round the Japanese-made DEMU coaches and Myanmar-made DEMU coaches that will be used in Yangon-Mandalay rail line. The Senior General gave necessary guidance.

At the meeting hall, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communication General Mya Tun Oo and Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing conducted a powerpoint presentation on brief history of the plant and functions, progress in following the guidance given by the Senior General during his inspection trip in September 2021, test production steps of DEMU passenger coaches in Myitnge plant, part-by-part installation of DEMU passenger coaches in Nay Pyi Taw, and efforts for the availability of necessary sections of DEMU coaches.

In response, the Senior General said of the country’s modes of transportation, rail transportation is greatly helpful for the nation. Railways, locomotives, and wagons and coaches need constant maintenance. Research has two parts. Efforts should be made for systematization of train erection and stations, cleanness and pleasantness of areas along the rail tracks, using of railway territories effectively, continuous research and development programs for constant availability of rail and coach technology. Myanma Railways must try to enter a new age. Continuous efforts must be made to erect DEMU coaches locally and must have plans to lay rail lines for electric trains in the future. Plans and calculations must be made in advance to upgrade the tracks and stations and overpasses to meet the required standard for electric trains. Priority must be given to Yangon-Pyay and Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay railroads.

Trains must meet the speeds of their kinds, and the tracks must meet the required quality and durability standard. Rail transportation needs priority as it truly benefits the country.

Trains can cut fuel consumption and time. Constant commodity flow must be ensured on the main railways of the country.

Arrangements should be made for the convenience of city circular train passengers. MR must have continuous maintenance programs for coaches and continue to erect new coaches. Railway areas should be effectively used and research must be conducted for Myanmar rail services to meet the international standard.

Train charges must be fair for the public. As rail services truly benefits the country, efforts should be made to upgrade MR.Afterward, the Senior General presented cash rewards for the factory staff to the factory manager and responsible officials.

Then, the Senior General and party proceeded to the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) and were welcomed by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and officials.

Then, the union minister reported to the Senior General on historical facts, records, culture and maintenance of areas, walls and buildings of Taungoo Ketumati Ancient City, conditions of the walls of Mandalay Palace, moat and bridges, reconstruction of bridges damaged in the Second World War and measures taken for reconstruction of auspicious Seshe Bridge.

Afterward, the Senior General and party watched the video clip about the history of the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw).

Then, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo reported to the Senior General on measures taken for construction of Taungoo detour railroad .

Afterward, the Senior General gave instructions on the needs to excavate and maintenance of historical monuments like palaces as much as possible, excavate the palace wall of Ketumati palace of the Taungoo Dynasty, to move ministry buildings that are necessary to move, to avoid moving religious edifices currently, to do maintenance works for the moat, to do maintenance works of ancient cultural buildings according to possible historical facts, to conserve ancient cultural buildings, to compile facts and evidence necessary to reconstruct the auspicious Mingalar bridge of the Mandalay palace, to reconstruct the bridge in its original design, to upgrade roads leading to the bridge, for all citizens to value the history of the country, to develop farmland for the site to construct the Taungoo Station, to systematically design the extended new town before it is developed and to consider the long-term requirements for the ring rail road.

Then, the Senior General inspected the exhibition booths in the National Museum and attended to needs reported by responsible officials.
