SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends opening ceremony of  142nd Myanmar’s South Sea pearl emporium

A ceremony to open the 142nd Myanmar’s South Sea Pearl Emporium took place at Mani[1]yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this morning, with an address by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Also present at the ceremony were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, council members, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, departmental officials, officials of Myanmar Pearl Enterprise, guests and pearl entrepreneurs at home and abroad.

The Senior General and attendees watched a video clip on data on production of South Sea pearl by relevant countries, production and sale of pearl by Myanmar, and preparations to hold the 142nd Myan[1]mar’s South Sea pearl emporium in 2024.

The Senior General and party viewed round display of pearl lots at Maniyadana Jade Hall for the 142nd Myanmar’s South Sea pearl emporium and private jewellery shops. Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi and officials conducted the Senior General and part round the jade hall.

The emporium which will be held from 12 to 15 August will sell 700 lots of 175,000 pieces of South Sea pearl through the open tender system.

At the pearl emporium on 13 August, a total of 115 lots of pearl from numbers 001 to 115 lots will be sold as tender No 1 and 115 more lots of pearl from numbers 116 to 230 lots through open tender system. A total of 115 pearl lots from numbers 231 to 345 lots set as tender No 3 and 115 more lots from number 346 to 460 lots as tender No 4 will be sold through open tender system on 14 August. Moreover, a total of 120 pearl lots from number 461 to 580 lots set as tender No 5 and 120 more pearl lots from number 581 to 700 lots as tender No 6 will be sold through open tender system on 15 August.
