Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by member of Politburo of Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs H. E. Mr. Wang Yi at the Credentials Hall of his office here this afternoon.
Present together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister at SAC Chairman’s Office 2 U Ko Ko Hlaing, Deputy Minister for Information Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun and officials. H. E. Mr. Wang Yi was accompanied by H.E. Ms. Ma Jia, whose appointment as Amba[1]ssador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar has been agreed on, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sun Weidong, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs Mr. Deng Xijun and members of the delegation.
In his greetings, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said China and Myanmar are neighbours and also good old friends. Since the past, the two countries have established a community through thick and thin in accord with the five principles of peaceful co-existence. The current meeting will further enhance bilateral friendship and cooperation.
H. E. Mr. Wang Yi said Myanmar is a good neighbour and a good old friend of China. China strongly supports the perpetuation of Myanmar’s independence and sovereignty. The country also welcomes and supports Myanmar’s implementation of its five-point roadmap for national peace, stability and progress and preparations to hold a free and fair multi-party democracy general election. China pays serious attention to its cooperation with Myanmar for the latter’s peace and stability. China opposes EAOs’ attacks against towns and villages in Shan State (North).
Afterwards, views on friendship and cooperation between the two countries, defence cooperation, internal peace in Myanmar, peace and stability in border areas, ongoing cooperative undertakings of the two countries to eliminate online gambling, online frauds, other types of financial frauds and illegal businesses, and progress in the preparations for holding a free and fair multi-party democracy general election were cordially exchanged.
After the meeting, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and H. E. Mr. Wang Yi exchanged commemorative gifts.
