A ceremony to present offertories to Sayadaws who will receive religious titles in 2024 was held at Agga Dipati Sasana Beikman in the compoundMaravijaya Buddha Park here this morning. Chairman of State Administration Council of the Republic of Union of Myanmar Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered day meal to the Sayadaws.
Present were specially invited Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Thanlyin Min Kyaung monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candimabhivamsa and Secretary of the SSMNC Patron of Masoyein Taikthit monastery in Mandalay Sayadaw of Dhammathamiddhi monastery Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Maha Dhamma Kahtika Bahujana Hitadhaja Bhaddanta Vase-lhabhivamsa who led 108 local and foreign Sayadaws and two nuns who will be awarded religious titles. Present together with the Senior General and wife to pay respects to the Sayadaws were SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the SAC Secretary and wife, the Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, union level officials, union ministers and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, and officials.
Before the ceremony, the Senior General offered meal in the emerald bowl, fruits, flowers, water and lights to Maravijaya Naundawgyi Buddha Image in the Beikman.
The ceremony was opened by reciting namotassa three times and the congregation led by the Senior General and wife received the Five Precepts from SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw.
Sayadaws then recited Parittas.
The Senior General and wife present offertories to SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw, the Vice-Senior General and wife to SSMNC Secretary Sayadaw, and the SAC Secretary and wife, the Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, and dignitaries to the Sayadaws who will receive religious titles.
Afterwards, the Senior General’s wife presented offertories to the two nuns who will become title recipients.
SSMNC Secretary Sayadaw delivered a sermon and the merits gained were shared. The congregation then recited Buddha sasanam ciramtihtatu three times to conclude the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife and the attendees offered day meal to SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw, the Secretary Sayadaw and local and foreign Sayadaws and nuns who will receive religious titles.
