A Dhamma congregation auspicious ceremony marking the full moon day of Kason (Buddha Day) 2023 was held at the Sasana Maha Beikmandawgyi in the precinct of the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw this evening and Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the sermon delivering auspicious ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Sangha led by Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Koesaungtaik of Koesaung Monastery in Thirimarlar Monastic Complex in Myingyan Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Jotipala and State Ovadacariya Sawlasama Chief of Shwekyin Sasana Chancellor of the Sitagu World Buddhist Universities Agga Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Nanissara and the Senior General and wife was accompanied by Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the secretary and the joint secretary of the SAC and their wives, members of the SAC and their wives, union level officials, union ministers and their wives, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials and religious associations.
The ceremony commenced with paying obeisance to Buddha images and a three time recitation of Namo Tassa and the congregation led by the Senior General and wife took five precept from the Myingyan Sayadaw and deeply attended to the Dhamma Katha Desana sermon about the full moon day of Kason(Buddha Day) delivered by the Sitagu Sayadaw.
Then, the Senior General and wife presented more than Ks-1.111 billion as Dhammapuja Cash Donation to Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, who accepted the cash donation on behalf of the members of the Sangha.
After attending to the sermon delivered by the Sitagu Sayadaw, the congregation shared merits and the ceremony concluded with a three-time recitation of Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu.
