Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepted the credentials of H.E. Dr. Md.Monwar Hossain, the newly accredited Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman, Nay Pyi Taw, at 10 am today.
Afterwards, both sides cordially discussed promotion of diplomatic relations, cooperation and friendship between the two countries, promotion of bilateral trade, bilateral cooperation to curb illegal trade and drug smuggling at the common border, repatriation of those who left their homes, defence cooperation for regional peace and stability, joint efforts to address the damage cause by cyclone Mocha, and Myanmar’s political developments.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Bangladeshi Ambassador posed for group documentary photos.
Also present on occasion were Joint SAC Secretary Lt- Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Director-General of the Protocol Department U Wunna Han.
