Union ministers discussed supervision for utilization of arable lands allowed in Meiktila District in other ways and following the prescribed rules and law for land utilization, coordination to regrow marketable crops in the flood-affected acres of farmlands in the district, systematic repairing of dams and canals by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation for smooth process of farming tasks, supply of water to the irrigated areas, formation of cooperative societies for ensuring socio-economic development of rural people, implementation of the emerald green projects, supply of quality strains of oil crops and agricultural inputs for farmers in growing winter crops, and fulfillment for education promotion in Meiktila District.
Meiktila District possessing sound foundations is a hub
In his discussions, the Senior General said that Meiktila region is located at the junctions of four corners, and it is a hub for transport and trading. The areas of Meiktila region and Nay Pyi Taw Council Area are in some difference, and more than 900,000 people reside in Meiktila whereas Nay Pyi Taw is home to more than 1 million people. Hence, efforts are being made to develop Nay Pyi Taw Council Area as well as Meiktila as a model area. Meiktila is a commercial hub in the centre of Myanmar, facilitated with universities and colleges in the education sector.
As Meiktila region possesses smooth transport facility, all measures can be taken in a smooth manner.
Enhancing education sector to shape the future of the State
As Meiktila possesses many sound foundations in education sector, it is necessary to encourage education sector. With regard to encouraging the education sector, students are learning education, accounting for 60 percent of the population who can attend the KG+12 educationalscheme in the country. After 2019, number of students has been declining at schools. Due to outbreak of COVID-19, schools were also closed.
It is necessary to turn out well-versed human resources in order to build a modern country in the future.
Moreover, it is necessary to shape a disciplined society. In accord with the motto: “Schools initiate national disciplines”, schoolchildren must be under teaching and guidance of teachers in learning education.
It can be seen that the children who have attended school follow disciplines more than those who did not experience attending the school.
Hence, morale and disciplines of students will be different depending on their educational grades. At least, if students attend KG+12 educational scheme, they will have the skills of following disciplines.
Therefore, invaluable new generation youths with high morale and sense of discipline can be nurtured if teachers train them properly. The government has been making efforts to promote the education sector and is necessary to nurture more intellectuals for the future development of the country.
There are some individuals who are working abroad in our country. If development of industries that are based on agriculture and livestock breeding can be realized, job opportunities can be created. To do so, it is necessary to nurture technicians to achieve success for agriculture and livestock breeding industries.
Therefore, agriculture, livestock breeding and technical high schools are being opened in all districts to nurture human resources for agriculture, livestock breeding and technology. It is necessary to apply modern technologies instead of traditional methods.
By doing so, crop yields will improve and socioeconomic development can be achieved.
Therefore, it is necessary to encourage the education sector so that regional development tasks can be achieved by enhancing the education quality without fail.
Regional socioeconomic development can be realized by carrying out agriculture and livestock breeding tasks successfully
In connection with agriculture, traditional cultivation methods are being used in our country and it can be seen that rice sufficiency is low in Meiktila District. Per-acre yields and targeted yields must be met.
Everything that is cultivated in the districts must be beneficial for the district. If efforts are made to boost per-acre yields, rice sufficiency will improve and incomes of the district will increase. If there are shortages of basic food items in the district, it will have to buy them from others and money will flow to other regions. If crop yields can be boosted, money circulation in the district will increase.
Socio-economic development of the district can be realized by carrying out livestock breeding tasks successfully in addition to agriculture in the district.
Therefore, responsible officials are required to place emphasis on agriculture and livestock breeding.
As Meiktila District produces cotton to some extent, efforts must be made with farsightedness for the development of cotton factories. If high quality textiles can be manufactured from cotton produced in the district, cotton imports from other countries can be reduced and can export the surplus if local needs are fulfilled. Therefore, socioeconomic development of the district can be realized in Meiktila District by exerting efforts for development of cotton industries and establishing a model district for the textile industry of the country.
Agriculture and livestock breeding tasks can be carried out more effectively when they are implemented through the cooperative system and the government is ready to offer assistance.
In connection with crop yields, the number of plants in each field must be met. Only then, basics for targeted yields can be achieved. Similarly, it is necessary to use correct cultivation methods.
Systematic cultivation methods will boost yields.
The government has been exerting efforts for development of Meiktila District. In doing so, it is necessary to carry out tasks enthusiastically instead of working as usual and to use time beneficially. Responsible officials and residents are required to make concerted efforts with farsightedness for regional development.
After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted the officials and town elders.
Then, the Senior General and party inspected the site in Meiktila, where a students’ assembly will be built, and gave necessary instructions on reports of officials.
