Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presents awards at prize-presentation ceremony of 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meet

The 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meet prize presentation ceremony was held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Stadium here this evening, attended by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who gave away prizes.

Present together with the Senior General were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander- in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, SAC member Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, union level officials, union ministers and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw command commander, officers, other ranks and families of offices/departments of Office of Commander- in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), senior officer trainees of National Defence College, officers, other ranks and families of battalions/units under the command of Nay Pyi Taw Command HQ, trainees of Tatmadaw football academy, invited guests and athletes of the sports meet.

First Central Command team and Yangon Command team played in the open division final of 61st Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services football trophy for 2024. The two finalists put pressure on each other with all-out efforts. In the 37th minute, Yangon Command team scored a goal, and led the match with a 1-0 result at the end of first-half. The second-half was also a tough match in which the two teams made attempts to score. But neither team could find the back of the net till the end of the match. Hence Yangon Command team won over Central Command team with a 1-0 result. Together with Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) military band, the parade commander in the leading position, followed by flag bearers, and athletes of 17 sports teams and three prize-winner football teams took positions in the sports ground.

At the prize-presentation ceremony, Chair of Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administration Board Adjutant- General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo presented awards to best players in the relevant playing positions, best player of the trophy, and the Office of Commanderin- Chief (Army) team that won the fair play award, Lt-Gen Hpone Myat from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), to Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) team that won third prize, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, to second prize-winner Central Command team, Commanderin- Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Htain Win presented individual medals, the first-prize trophy, a replica trophy, and cash awards to first-prize winner Yangon Command team.

General Maung Maung Aye presented championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (third prize) and cash awards to Central Command team that won the third largest number of medals in the 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meets.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (second prize) and cash awards to Yangon Command team that won the second largest number of medals in the 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meets.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented championship trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and cash awards to Office of Commander- in-Chief (Navy) team that won the largest number medals in the 2024 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meets with 65 gold, 43 silver and 41 bronze, total 149 medals to the manager and athletes.

After the end of ceremony, led by the parade commander, flag bearers, 17 sports teams and Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) military band marched in military column formation, waving their hands and left the stadium. The Senior General and wife and the attendees wave back at them.

At that time, fireworks were displayed in hailing the success of the ceremony and the sports meet which concluded successfully later.
