Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the progress in building Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University here this morning.
First, the Senior General was welcomed by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, union ministers Dr Nyunt Pe, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, U Myo Thant, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, Pro-Rector of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University Dr Soe Lin Aung, faculty members and officials.
The Senior General inspected the football field including stands and running tracks, hostels, dining hall and gymnasium in the university compound and looked into the requirements.
Afterwards, he arrived at the main lecture hall, and later inspected the structures of the assembly hall, convocation hall, lecture rooms, practical rooms, temporary library and support rooms, sector by sector in detail, and fulfilled the requirements.
At the temporary briefing hall, the union minister for Science and Technology reported on the progress in erecting threestorey main lecture hall, staff housings, lecture rooms, hostels for faculty members and students sports grounds, library, teaching aid buildings and further plans, presentation of proposed plans for the extended main hall, and plans to erect a statue marking the centenary of Myanmar engineering education at the university.
In response, Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said as the university is an institution of higher learning that attracts the interest of the people and students, all the lecture rooms, hostels and other supporting rooms must meet the required standard and be sustainable.
In erecting buildings, their future capacities must be taken into account, in addition to the measurements to accommodate the current population of teachers and students.
Calculations must be made in advance to accept the rising number of students based on estimated annual student population growth.
Also, a program to improve the design and appearance of the university and systematic nurturing programs for beautifying the campus with thriving plants must be implemented.
Careful survey is needed in planting saplings of large-tree species for their long-term growth. As this year’s open season has arrived, all drainage systems must be completed before the onset of the coming year’s monsoon. He then spoke of the need to generate solar power for the university and prioritize the water and power supply and pleasantness of the university.
