Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets students of five-year education degree course No 6 of the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union

     Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met students of five-year education degree course No 6 of the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union at the Ngu Shwewa Hall at his office this morning.

Also present were Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dway, SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC members, union ministers,union level officials, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, officials, the rector, faculty members and students of the university.

In his address, the Senior General said the Academy for the Development of the National Races of the Union,opened on 20 October 1964, was upgraded to the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union on 10 May 1991, and the UDNR had already brought about 14,288 alumni who had completed their relevant courses.

The abundance of educated human resources is the foundation of a nation’s development.

The State is programming to build a prosperous country in the future, with the power of intellectuals and intelligentsia, and is striving for the progress of all-rounded education.

The production of talented youths, imbued with five intellectual moral and physical strengths on whom the country can rely, in the future depends on the quality of educating and teaching skills of teachers.

Consequently, in all seriousness, teachers must strive to help establish a knowledge society, apart from increasing the schooling rate of school age children, properly teaching school education, and increasing the pass rate.

Schools must not be the places just to disseminate education.

They must be the centres where the essence of education – intellectual knowledge and thinking power, moral intelligence, civic ethics and social ethics – is taught. As the saying goes, “Discipline of a nation starts at school” teachers, by using their learned knowledge, must nurture their students to possess good practices of law-abiding highly civilized citizens, beginning from school discipline.

Life of human depends on things whether they have accumulated knowledge and techniques, and these knowledge and techniques are in differences and changes.

If people have been steadfastly learning education to meet the ambition since childhood, such education will provide greater benefits for their lives.

If they drop out from the school in a learning period for very reasons, they will not have appropriate knowledge and they will face needs in their lives.

 If they learn primary, middle, high school and higher education, accumulation of knowledge will improve their lives as much as they can.

As such, they have to urge pupils to try hard in learning to become intelligentsia, intellectuals, experts and professionals by showing own experiences.

Having techniques plays a crucial role for a human whereas correct knowledge, opinion and attitudes are essential for all.

Hence, emphasis is being placed on staging campaigns on development of libraries for learning techniques and knowledge and raising reading habit across the nation. As these measures are interrelated with education, those students have to strive to meet success in their assigned areas.

According to the current landscapes of Myanmar and the world, now is time for all Myanmar people to defend own territory, nationality and sovereignty. As a civilian, serving their duties of defending the State can be defined as guarding the entire nation and all citizens.

 It is a national duty.

People have to collaborate with the Tatmadaw which is primarily responsible for defending the State. Likewise, both people and the Tatmadaw have to serve the duties of non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty together.

Myanmar’s history all the people have experienced showed that the strength of the nation lies within.

It is necessary to primarily initiate development of the nation with the internal strength.

As Myanmar is rich in natural resources and human potential, if all national races work together in harmony, the country can achieve a leading position not only in the region but also on the global stage.

Myanmar is home to more than 130 national races. Hence, it is important for all to foster the Union spirit.

The Union spirit must be cultured for all national brethren to forge the spirit of national brethren residing in the same land, to foster the spirit for all national races without separating hilly regions and plains to collaboratively defend the State and to initiate the family spirit of all to share the same fortune and future.

As such, all students have to build mutual respect, understanding and trust among the national brethren of the Union with correct perception and attitude in unison. In particular, it is essential to prioritize the training of ethnic youths, who will be provided with education to foster a spirit of unity and uphold the goodwill for the nation’s lasting interests.

In our country, it is crucial to successfully hold a free and fair election to ensure the flourishing of a genuine and disciplined multi-party democratic system.

Therefore, we have set the ultimate goal of holding elections, and we all know that the necessary preparations have already begun.

For the longterm sustainability of the Union, Our Three Main National Causes should always be placed in the fore, and we must organize and lead efforts to achieve a solid foundation of unionism with the spirit of ethnic unity among the ethnic people.

It is essential to nurture young students in various schools to help them develop the Five Kinds of Strengths and become skilled, educated individuals whom the state can rely on.

He emphasized the need to ensure that every schoolage child has the opportunity to attend school, eradicate illiteracy, and encourage all literate individuals to engage in reading.

Following that, Myat Thinzar Kyaw, a Chin ethnic from Setoktara Township in the Magway Region, expressed sincere thanks on behalf of the students from five-year Education Degree Course No 6 of the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union.

She expressed her gratitude, saying, ‘Thank you very much for taking the time to meet with us and for instructing us on what is necessary to know.

She said, “We will regard these instructions as important and follow them attentively.

 According to the instructions, we promise to make our best efforts to develop the knowledge, skills, and social life of all citizens, implement the political processes of the state, and achieve national goals, while shaping and building a knowledge-rich society in the future.

Then she stated, “After graduation, as education staff, as good citizens raised by the state, we will fulfill our duties with the spirit of good citizenship.

After that, two students from the university presented a gift to the Senior General.

Then, the Senior General and the students who attended the ceremony posed for documentary photographs together. Later, the Senior General greeted the students individually in a cordial manner, presented cash awards to them, and an official received the awards on their behalf.
