Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received heads of delegations from member countries of the ASEANAPOL and a delegation led by the executive director of the ASEAN Police Secretariat that attended the 42nd ASEANAPOL hosted by Myanmar at the parlour of the Credentials Hall of the Office of the Chairman of the SAC in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.
Also present together with the Senior General were Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo and Member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae of the SAC, Chief of the Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Win Zaw Moe and responsible officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while police chiefs and senior officers from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and the executive director of the ASEAN Police Secretariat, who attended the 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference, paid a courtesy call on the Senior General.
During the courtesy call, the Senior General extended greetings, saying the police are an organization that is mainly responsible for internal security and the role of the police is very comprehensive and important. It is necessary for members of the ASEAN to work together in combats against transnational crimes that require cooperation.
Drug trafficking, arm smuggling and online scams can be prevented and suppressed effectively by cooperation among the police of respective countries. In conclusion, the Senior General expressed thanks for attending the 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference hosted by Myanmar.
Then the chief of the MPF reported to the Senior General on objectives and activities of the conference.
Afterward, heads of the delegation and the executive director of the ASEAN Police Secretariat introduced themselves one by one and discussed hospitality of Myanmar during the conference, cooperation for training among the police forces of the countries and future tasks for combating transnational crimes.
After the discussions, the Senior General and party posed for documentary photographs together with heads of the delegations and the executive director.
