Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in Kunming, People’s Republic of China, metwith staff families of the Myanmar Consul General’s Office and Myanmar scholarship students in Kunming this morning and delivered a speech.
Firstly, the families of the consulate staff warmly welcomed the Senior General, and his delegation.
Following that, Consul General U Thwin Htet Lin and the staff provided updates on their responsibilities, while the scholarship students shared their learning progress.
In his speech, the Senior General stated that his visit to attend the 8th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting and other meetings was by invitationof the Chinese government.
He said the purpose of meeting with the staff working abroad was to address any needs they may have. He encouraged them to support each other as they collectively represent the country overseas, urging everyone to carry out their duties diligently.
He stressed the importance of learning from the host country’s history, culture,and development to aid in Myanmar’s own progress. For national development, he noted the significant role of economic growth and encouraged collaborative efforts through diplomatic relations to create opportunities in mutual economic ventures and importexport businesses.
He emphasized that building good relationships is crucial for the success of diplomatic tasks.
He further highlighted the importance of diplomatic relations between nations, urging consulate staff to carry out their roles responsibly to enhance Myanmar’s political, economic, and national interests while elevating the nation’s reputation.
He advised them to understand the distinction between political duties and national interests and work from their expertise for the benefit of the country. For scholarship students, both military and civilian, he emphasized focusing on their studies and continuing to learn rigorously.
He briefed them on the country’s ongoing efforts toward political reforms, ensuring a stable multiparty democracy, and promoting an authentic democratic system.
He also discussed the current state of preparations for holding free and fair multi-party democracy general elections.
Following this, the Senior General presented gifts and financial support to the families of the consulate staff and to Myanmar military and civilian scholarship students across China.
The Myanmar Ambassador to China, military attaché (Army, Navy, and Air), Consul General in Kunming, and the students received these gifts.
Later, the Senior General toured the Consulate General’s Office, and took a documentary group photo taken with the consulate staff and scholarship students.
