As today is the full moon day of Tazaungmone (Samanaphala Holy Day), one of the holy days of Buddhists, Tazaungdaing light festivals are held annually as a fine tradition of Myanmar in accordance with the Myanmar traditional culture.
On the occasion of the holyday, Buddhists go on a fast, recite Pathan and Paritha, celebrate Kathina Auscipious Ceremonies to offer Kathina robes in monasteries and make Dhana Sila Bhanava donations in dedication to the Buddha and pay obeisance to Buddha images in pagodas in peace of mind.
As the Myanmar cultural festival was being held, Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice Chairman of the SAC Depury Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice- Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) and wife and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Cheif of Defence Services and their wives, union-level officials and their wives happily celebrated the festivals by offering oil lights, colourful lights, flowers and water and 1,000 oil lights at Buddha images at the Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda.
Similarly, in the compound of the Office of the Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services (Army), the light festival was held by decorating roads, buildings and trees with colourful lights while festivities were held significantly by families of the Office of the Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services.
As Tazaung refers to the beacon of lights and oil lights and Mone means brightness, the festival amounts to a large number of shining lights to the end of the eye sight and pagodas were crowded wit people making offerings to Shin Upagutta, holding floating light festivals, offering Matho robes and organizing charity bazaars. Moreover, the situation of the country was peaceful with donors of salad of the bulbs of Mezali trees, people who made donations to anyone who was lucky enough to find them and those who found them.
Similarly, as it was the Tazaungdaing holidays, resorts, coasts and parks in regions and states were crowded with people who were celebrating the full moon day of Tazaungmone (Samanaphala Holy Day).
