NAY PYI TAW June 9

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were members of the entourage, the Yangon Region chief minister, the Yangon Command commander, the mayor, Yangon Region ministers, district and township level departmental officials, religious associations, philanthropic organizations, war veterans and officials.
Regional details and development endeavours First, the chief minister reported on points of the region, terrorist attacks in the region and security forces’ lawful actions against terrorism, endeavours for development of multi-sectors including social, health, economic, agriculture sectors, implementation of Pankin projects and regional greening activities.
Continuous functioning of all development machineries for national progress The Senior General said SAC took over the State duties in accord with the situation and it is giving political solutions for all possible areas. All global countries are continuously striving for their development.
Hence, Myanmar cannot stay idle. In this regard, SAC leaves no stone unturned in its endeavours for progress. Agriculture and farming activities, health and education undertakings that are the country’s main requirements and all other important sectors must be carried out constantly.
National development calls for production of a large number of new generation intellectuals and intelligentsia. Enrollment programs for all school age children must be carried out as only the educated can acquire technological knowledge. The 2019 issued census indicates the country’s weakness in the education sector. Hence, SAC is providing support for education promotion. COVID-19 has temporarily stopped learning activities in the past. Nowadays, the government has reopened the schools, but sadly, terrorists are intimidating and killing education staff and students and destroying government-provided education aids and buildings.
Their acts amount to destroying the country while students, parents and the States are facing losses. Yangon has the main universities and advantages in every sector. All those excellent foundations of the former government seat should be utilized well.
Economic development is critical as it is the main driving force Nation-building has three driving forces – political power, economic power and defence power. Political stability and unity fortifies political power, while military and security strength enhances defence power. Economic power is the foundation of the said two powers.
So, economic driving force is essential for the country. In this regard, the economy must be improved from the township level and district level to regional and national levels. Prosperity and abundant food supply is the national goal.
The successive governments have tried to ensure abundant food in Yangon Region, which has favourable water and soil conditions. Yet, it still has weaknesses in agriculture with low yields. So, efforts must be made till success is achieved in agricultural undertakings with better per-acre yield. With abundant food, the country will develop facilitating measures for economic growth.
The country has a network of rivers and creeks to generate hydropower. But for various reasons, there has been few projects. Measures are also being taken to implement solar power projects that take a shorter time to finish. All-out efforts are necessary to ensure enough electricity supply while is also required to save that electricity.
As the government strives to provide enough electricity, it is necessary to use it in a systematic manner. So, efforts must be made to use electrical equipment that can save power.
When it comes to cooking oil, the country is cultivating oil crops. With low yields, production cost gets high. Therefore, per-acre yield will increase if good strains, fertile soil, enough water and correct cultivation methods are used. Those responsible officials need to pay attention to this.
For the convenience of the Yangon people, the Yangon Region government and Yangon Command are engaging in agricultural and livestock breeding tasks and selling products. Regional food sufficiency will facilitate regional trade and economy. If a country is able to produce goods locally rather than import, foreign exchange spending and trade deficit can be reduced. Under the previous two governments, there were large trade deficits.
Foreign exchange was spent for various reasons including receiving healthcare in foreign countries.
Union system and peace based on democracy and federalism Differences in political ideology and ethnic cause led to internal armed conflicts with great impact on local businesses.
Now, talks are being held with the ethnic armed organizations to achieve internal peace.
The country has experienced various political systems since its independence. Now, it is on the road to multi-party democracy with two political aims aspired by the people. Multi-party democracy must be practised correctly while a union must be established based on democracy and federalism. It has been noted that federalism the concept of different regions and states with diverse ethnicities co-existing together and sharing with each other. Different countries have different federal ways.
They are using the system most suitable to them. In Myanmar, internal armed conflicts emerged due to different ideologies.
Democracy as well as federalism requires equal rights. Talks will continue with the ethnic armed organizations to achieve peace. In meeting with there, there were good conditions.
Efforts will continue to achieve peace by holding better talks.
Effective actions and punishments for the rule of law are being used in accord with the law for those committing acts of terrorisms and killings on the pretext of political ideologies.
Terrorism is unacceptable also in the international community.
In resolving instability stemming from the political cause, the government is acting in accord with the democratic ways.
Some EAOs cannot participate in the talks for various reasons.
In line with the firm implementation of two political visions, the government further invites remaining groups to hold talks.
Public service personnel must dutifully serve their assignments As the strength of the nation lies within, and only when public cooperation is better, will emphasis be placed on development of the nation. Hence, public service personnel from departmental organizations must conscientiously discharge duties to be able to win the trust of the people. Whatever they do their assignments, they have to deeply serve the duties.
If so, they will achieve success in their missions. They need to focus on studies in relevant subjects to dutifully serve the assignments for having success in theoretical and practical works. Only when they associate with each other respectfully in workplaces will all missions accomplish.
